Math
Our math program involves a lot of hands-on materials. This gives the students a chance to learn through using manipulatives in order to visualize what is normally talked about in the abstract.
Language
Our language program also involves a lot of hands-on materials. Maria Montessori believed that "what the hand does, the mind remembers". We use this philosophy in all areas of education.
Social Studies and Science
Maria Montessori believed in cosmic education - teaching that all big things are made up of little parts and that all little parts are important to the whole. This applies in many areas, but we use it a lot in our social studies and science programs. We learn Montessori's 5 Great Lessons: The Coming of the Universe, The Coming of Life, The Coming of Humans, The Creation of Language, and the Creation of Mathematics. We also learn about the world and its cultures as well as nature and its wonders.
