Independent Child Montessori School

Montessori education is the perfect alternative to educating the masses. It focuses on the individual child and lets them explore and learn at their own pace. It increases internal motivation and naturally creates independence and a sense of accomplishment in the child. Here at ICMS, we strive to educate our students beyond the classroom. We encourage values like curiosity, respect, inner strength and community. Our aim is to meet every child at their own level so that they are as prepared as they can be to deal with any experience.

Curiosity

Maria Montessori believed in freedom within limits and hands-on materials being used in the classroom. Both of these tools lead children to further develop their natural sense of curiosity. It encourages students to use that curiosity to challenge their intellect and teach themselves new things daily.

Inner Strength

We know that beyond the lessons that we teach, our students are children who are discovering the world. They need an inner strength to be able to navigate all that they will encounter. We want to be there to guide them when they need that inner strength.

Maria Montessori lived through both world wars and believed in teaching children about respect: respect for self, respect for others, and respect for environment. Without respect, learning cannot be effective. At ICMS, we believe in fostering an environment of mutual respect between the teachers and students.

Community
Respect

At ICMS we teach the children to be good stewards of the community and to take care of one another. We encourage the students to build friendships and use their words to express themselves. We also encourage the families of our students to build a school community, as well.

Our goal is to develop students who are creative, courageous and respectful.
