Saint Joseph Early Childhood
Educational activities
Infants- Our infant program starts at 8 weeks, though there are only 4 spots in our infant program so generally speaking there are rarely openings there. Here we are focused on motor skills, tummy time, and sensory experiences.
Toddlers- The toddler program starts at 18 months through 3 years. This program focuses mainly on social skills like how to sit with the group and interact with peers. It's all about learning to use our words here. We do, however, have an academic focus for our toddlers as well. They work on sounds, colors, shapes, and letters along with the preschool.
Preschool- The preschool class is ages 3-5. This class delves deeper into our weekly themes. They also explore more science and geography. Maria Montessori believed that early childhood was the period of the absorbent mind. This is the most important period of academic development for the child because their minds are like sponges and they are so curious and excited about learning.
